Offering personalised learning support
I'm Sarah, a Specialist Teacher in West Kent. Supporting children and teenagers with their learning is my passion.
Every learner has strengths and weaknesses, and I focus on all of these areas.
I provide practical, multi-sensory strategies to build up confidence and bring success.

Find out about the services I offer

I work with learners on a 1-1 basis. After an initial 90-minute session, I create a personalised learning plan with targets.
Sessions normally take place on a weekly basis and contain a range of activities, focusing on areas such as reading, writing, spelling, numeracy and memory.
Sessions normally take place from my home, however I also work in schools on a freelance basis.

Meet Sarah Stokes
Specialist dyslexia tutor and experienced classroom teacher

I have over 25 years' experience of teaching in a range of classrooms. I started as a secondary English teacher and soon became Literacy Coordinator and then Head of Department. I then moved to primary, teaching English and Maths to children aged 7-11 years.
In 2023, I completed my Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia and other SpLDs. I was a Specialist Teacher in a secondary school for two years before setting up on my own in September 2025.
I am a school governor at my local primary school and also volunteer for a prison literacy charity. In my free time, I like to go for long walks with my dogs, go to the theatre, play tennis and spend time with my family.
